Ellen Cohen leverages her long time experience in real estate finance and consulting, as well as a deep knowledge of the New York real estate market, to find and create great deals for her clients. Having spent over 15 years navigating complex real estate transactions on behalf of major corporate clients – spanning the insurance, mortgage, commercial and residential markets – Ellen brings a unique perspective to residential transactions.
Having lived in New York City for almost 25 years, Ellen has developed a deep understanding of the residential real estate market, its cycles, the neighborhoods, and what makes up the value of Manhattan properties. She is relationship-oriented, and focused on providing a long term perspective for opportunities on behalf of her clients.
For several years, Ellen ran a tutoring service coaching middle school and high school students in New York City, teaching them organizational and study skills to help better manage their school responsibilities. Her work helped her students manage homework in order to improve overall performance, reduce pressure and create greater balance in their lives. It gives her deep insight into the NYC school landscape.
Ellen received her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance and Marketing with a specialty in Real Estate Finance from Columbia University. She volunteers for and supports Allen Stevenson and Trinity schools, the Child Mind Institute in New York and is on the Board of the Weingarten Learning Center at the University of Pennsylvania. She lives with her husband, three children and a dog on New York’s Upper East Side.
